The Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island is located in Province House, at 165 Richmond Street in Charlottetown.

Hours of Operation

As well as being the home of Prince Edward Island's Legislative Assembly, Province House is also a National Historic Site, celebrated as the birthplace of Confederation in 1864.

Open year round to visitors, Parks Canada offers interpretive services at the following times:

  • June 1st through Thanksgiving, daily, 9:00am-5:00pm
  • Thanksgiving through May 31st, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm

 

From May to September, the Legislative Assembly also provides an interpretive guide for visitors from 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Visitors are welcome to view the Legislative Assembly in action from the public gallery during the spring and fall sittings. Additional security is in place at Province House during a sitting, so visitors should be prepared to submit to security checks.
