Question 10

Olive Crane gives notice that she will ask the Minister responsible for Health the following question:

Date Submitted : November 18, 2014

On Oct 17 2014 in the Chronicle Herald, an article titled "Pressure on Doctors: Abusing Prescriptions" describes the pressures on Doc's in NS for addicts or traffickers to access addictive prescriptions drugs.

What is the PEl experience for doctors who prescribe addictive prescriptions? Are there incidents of abuse being reported by doctors here on PEl? If so how many incidents and how serious? What is Health PEl doing to ensure the safety of the physicians here in the province in relation to this issue?
