Intersection counts conducted in 2013 at the intersections of the Trans-Canada Highway Route 232 and at the Tobin Road indicate the average daily traffic is in the range of 3,420-3,880. This is lower than traffic counts for the majority of the Trans-Canada Highway between Borden and Cornwall. Safety is the top concern of the department. The department has improved the highway in Tryon and will make further improvements next year. I have had the opportunity to travel the new stretch of the road with engineers from within the department and I have offered to meet with the parents. The department has committed to looking at other options during the second phase of the road project.
