Olive Crane gives notice that she will ask the Minister responsible for Community Services and Seniors the following questions:

Is the program for Seniors Home Care Renovation that was announced in the Throne Speech the same program as the Home Renovation Program but with a different name? With the new program announced does the senior have to be living in their own home to apply? Do they have to have health challenges in order to apply for this program? Can the dollars to renovate be used for any purpose in the home or only for the structure issues dealing with the physical challenges? Will this program be needs-tested or can all seniors apply? What is the budget for this program?

Is the program for Seniors Home Care Renovation that was announced in the Throne Speech the same program as the Home Renovation Program but with a different name? The program mentioned in the Throne Speech is a new program, which will assist low and moderate income seniors to stay in their homes and remain independent longer.

With the new program announced does the senior have to be living in their own home to apply? Program specifics are currently being developed and further details regarding the program's start date and eligibility criteria are forthcoming

Do they have to have health challenges in order to apply for this program? Specific qualification criteria are currently being developed.

Can the dollars to renovate be used for any purpose in the home or only for the structure issues dealing with the physical challenges? Qualifying homeowners will be able to access up to $5,000 to undertake home modifications that support seniors to continue living in their homes safely and securely.More specific information will be provided when the program is introduced.

Will this program be needs-tested or can all seniors apply? The program will be targeted to low and moderate income seniors.

What is the budget for this program? $250,000 has been included in the 2014-2015 budget.
