Olive Crane gives notice that she will ask the Minister responsible Community Services and Seniors the following questions:
Date Submitted : November 27, 2014
How many students with intellectual disabilities will finish high school this year? Of this population, how many would require assisted living options? What are the wait lists for residential options like Queens Residential Services?
Date answered : December 04, 2014
The Department of Community Services and Seniors does not have information on the number of students with intellectual disabilities finishing high school.
Not all students with disabilities require assisted living options. Of those who do, the Department will assess their need and provide appropriate services through the Disability Support Program and other services and programs delivered by the Department.
What are the wait lists for residential options like Queens Residential Services?
The Department of Community Services and Seniors provides funding to a number of community organizations such as Queens County Residential Services. However, the Department does not maintain records for waiting lists for each of these organizations.
