The Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island is currently seeking applications from those interested in the following position:
As an effective communicator, well- versed in committee processes, you will advise committees of the Legislative Assembly on a range of matters and lead the planning and coordination of meeting logistics for an assigned portfolio of committees of the Assembly. In creating and disseminating agendas, records and other materials, you will demonstrate strong writing skills. This role requires the utmost sensitivity, tact, integrity and good judgment. You must have a familiarity and interest in committee processes and parliamentary procedures.
To be successful in this role, you must exercise a high level of flexibility, diplomacy and neutrality while working with privileged and confidential information in a dynamic parliamentary environment. Your background includes a degree and several years of progressively responsible related experience. You must have a thorough knowledge of administrative procedures, advanced computer skills, superior organizational skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships.
The incumbent must be available for evening and weekend work as required in addition to a regular 37.5 hour work week. This position is for an initial six- month term; however, there may be possibility of extension. You must be politically non-partisan.
A functional ability to work in French is considered an asset.
Compensation range: Commensurate with skills and experience.
