On March 26, 2013, the members of the Legislative Assembly unanimously approved a motion to appoint Jane MacAdam as Auditor General of Prince Edward Island. Serving Islanders, she is responsible for leading independent audits and examinations that provide objective information, advice and assurance to the Legislative Assembly.
Jane has over 35 years of experience at the Office of the Auditor General. Prior to her appointment as Auditor General, Jane held a senior position with the Office reporting directly to previous Auditors General for 25 years.
Jane has served on various committees of the Canadian Council of Legislative Auditors most recently the chair of the Planning and Coordinating Committee. She has also been active in a number of not for profit and community based organizations.
Jane obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Prince Edward Island and received her CA designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Prince Edward Island in 1981. She was awarded a Fellow Designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Prince Edward Island in December 2018.
