Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, November 20, 2024 – The Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island is pleased to be hosting its 2nd Annual Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) Twinning Program. The program is open to young women ages 17-25, from across Prince Edward Island, who will be “twinned” with women parliamentarians for a day-in-the-life experience. The objectives of the program include experiencing parliamentary life, generating political interest among young women, and offering women parliamentarians an opportunity to have exchanges with young women regarding their concerns and interests.
As the Prince Edward Island CWP representative, Susie Dillon, MLA for District 11, Charlottetown-Belvedere, has been a proponent in bringing the event to the Assembly. This year, the Assembly is hosting a two-day event and includes a variety of events, including a roundtable with women MLAs, tour of the Legislative Assembly and time to observe the proceedings.
