Carolyn Simpson

Carolyn Simpson was elected as the MLA for District 9, Charlottetown–Hillsborough Park, on August 12, 2025.
Before entering politics, Carolyn built a career in education and public service. She worked in early childhood education at Holland College and later held senior roles with the provincial government, including Director of Early Childhood Development and Early Years Advisor.
Active in her community, she has served on numerous boards, including the Early Childhood Development Association of PEI, the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of PEI, and the UPEI Board of Governors. She is also a member of 100 Women Who Care.
Carolyn holds a Master of Education in Leadership in Learning from UPEI, along with diplomas in Human Services and Early Childhood Care and Education from Holland College. Her work has been recognized with the Holland College Distinguished Alumni Award (2021) and the ECDA Award of Excellence (2018).
She lives in East Royalty and is the proud mother of two adult children, mother-in-law and “Mammie” to six grandchildren.
