Tayte lives in Cornwall with her husband Greg, their three young children, and their beagle Archie. She is deeply connected to her community and values the strong schools, accessible green spaces, and the kindness of neighbors that make Cornwall-Meadowbank such a special place to live and raise a family. She believes we can do politics differently by listening, working together, and taking action on issues that impact our daily lives.
Tayte holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Prince Edward Island and a Bachelor of Arts from Maritime Christian College. She also earned a Master of Applied Health Service Research where her research focused on the lived experience of managing chronic health conditions.
Her professional experience spans both the non-profit and public sectors, with a focus on policy development, program evaluation, and improving services for individuals, families, and communities. Upon graduating from UPEI, Tayte was employed with the Canadian Mental Health Association as the the Community Development Manager, then the Director of Programs and Policies. Transitioning to the Department of Health and Wellness, she worked as the Principle Advisor of Mental Health and Addictions, and prior to being elected, was the Manager of Chronic Disease Prevention and Management with Health PEI.
Tayte has volunteered with Westwood school, the Home and School Federation, Cornwall Christian Church, Canoe Cove Christian Camp, and the Canadian Mental Health Association. She served on the board of directors of the PEI Military Family Resource Centre.
Tayte was elected as the MLA for District 16, Cornwall-Meadowbank, in a by-election on July 13th, 2026.
