MLA Swearing-in Ceremony

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, February 20, 2023 – The Honourable Antoinette Perry, Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Prince Edward Island will attend the swearing-in ceremony for MLA Matthew MacFarlane on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., in the Legislative Assembly Chamber, The Honourable George Coles Building, Charlottetown. The ceremony will be live-streamed at www.assembly.pe.ca.
 
Prior to assuming a designated seat on the floor of the House, all Members must swear or solemnly affirm the Oath of Allegiance as required in the Constitution Acts 1867 to 1982, Section 128. Pursuant to direction received from Her Honour, the Lieutenant Governor, this Oath will be administered by the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Joseph Jeffrey.

• 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: New Member Orientation
• Members of the media are invited to meet with new MLA Matthew MacFarlane at the start of the orientation session. The session will be open for the first 10 minutes for filming.
