Official Opening of the 2nd Session of the 67th General Assembly and Secret Ballot Election of Speaker

Charlottetown, March 3, 2025 – The Official Opening of the 2nd Session of the 67th General Assembly of the Province of Prince Edward Island will commence at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025, in the Legislative Chamber, 1st floor, The Honourable George Coles Building (Coles Building).  

Following the resignation of the Honourable Darlene Compton as Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, effective February 27, 2025, the day will start with a secret ballot election of a Speaker.  A Speech from the Throne will follow. 

The House meets daily Tuesday-Friday during the sitting:

• Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays - 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm 
• Fridays - 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
