The Commission is made up of three individuals appointed by the Speaker to review the salary and benefits provided to Members and to report their decisions to the legislature by December 1 each year. During its review, the Commission asks for public input on its deliberations and gathers information on economic indicators.
The Commission is independent of the Legislative Assembly and Commissioners serve until the end of the General Assembly in which they were appointed. The decisions in their annual reports are binding on the legislature.
